Terms of Service.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of joaogilfilms.com (the "Site") and any filmmaking, videography, or editing services booked through it (the "Services"), provided by João Gil Ramos, operating as João Gil Films, based in Lisbon, Portugal. By using the Site or booking a Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Services

João Gil Films provides filmmaking, videography, and video editing services, including but not limited to weddings, corporate work, events, and documentary projects. The specific scope, deliverables, and timeline for each project are agreed directly between João Gil Films and the client before work begins, typically by email.

2. Eligibility

By booking a Service, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.

3. Bookings & Payment

Prices, payment schedule, and currency (EUR) for a project are confirmed directly with the client before booking. A booking is only secured once any agreed deposit has been paid. Remaining balances are due as agreed in the project quote or contract.

4. Refunds & Cancellations

Refund and cancellation terms are described on the Refund Policy page, which forms part of these Terms.

5. Delivery & Usage Rights

Once a project is fully paid, the client receives the agreed final deliverables (e.g. edited film, photos) for their own personal or commercial use as discussed for that project. João Gil Films retains ownership of raw, unedited footage and may use the final work in its own portfolio, reel, and social media, unless otherwise agreed in writing with the client.

6. Client Responsibilities

Clients are responsible for providing accurate project information, timely feedback, and any permissions needed for filming at a given location or of third parties, where applicable.

7. Limitation of Liability

João Gil Films will make every reasonable effort to deliver agreed Services on time and to a high standard. However, liability for any claim relating to a project is limited to the total amount paid by the client for that project. João Gil Films is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for delays caused by circumstances beyond reasonable control (e.g. weather, illness, equipment failure).

8. Third-Party Tools & Links

The Site may link to third-party platforms (e.g. YouTube, Instagram, gallery hosting). João Gil Films is not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of those third-party sites.

9. Termination

João Gil Films reserves the right to decline or discontinue a project in cases of abusive behaviour, non-payment, or a request to film unlawful content.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Services falls under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lisbon, Portugal.

11. Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be updated occasionally. Continued use of the Site or Services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
